another world

"it is almost as if you were frantically constructing another world while the world that you live in dissolves beneath your feet, and that your survival depends on completing this construction at least one second before the old habitation collapses."

- tennessee williams

  1. Hope she makes it! Is she escaping into black and white?

    1. ha ha... didn't think about it that way! the quote spoke to me as a constructor i think because sometimes i feel like art is my escape and my therapy and i have felt that sense of urgency to complete something (or several things) to feel solid again.

that said i think i would prefer to escape into an old gritty black and white photo- so i better get to work on that one.... :)

  2. WOW! What masterful use of a frame! This is a visual feast...and thought provoking as well. That world she's leaving looks idyllic and serene. I wonder where she thinks she's going.......
Thanks for sharing your talent with us this week!

  3. wow i love it, she escaping from here coloured world into reality..

  4. That is beautiful and moody, and other things I can't put into words...

  5. It reminds me of me teetering on the edge of dark and light leaning whichever way the wind blows on the day...another masterpiece Beth.

  6. Another wonderful quote and another stunning piece of art! I love the feel of this piece.
