This is lovely. It's a tender and sweet remembrance of granparents and days gone by
ReplyDeleteSimply stunning.Love everything about it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful heritage piece. You've captured such a special family memory, and the use of your grandmother's handwriting makes it all the more special. Thank you so much for sharing this bit of your family history!
ReplyDeleteWhat a treasure to know those who came before us every picture every word means so much to me and touches me in a way I can't explain...I sense that kindred spirit in you too Beth. This is a beautiful touching tribute to Alta.
ReplyDeleteThat faded, worn texture like a pair of old denim overalls gives the perfect atmosphere to this powerful photograph. The simplicity of the quotation leaves so much to imagine about the day and the lives of this couple...and just what happened at that time when they'd been out working in the field. The ragged dark edge frames the moment perfectly...anchoring it in the past. And that strange presence of a cardinal sends the imagination soaring. Thanks for sharing such a treasure.
ReplyDeleteI love your collage and love that you were able to use this wonderful picture in your work.
