What a great picture! Her gaze is so direct and assessing; she's so strong yet at ease. The writing on the fence...echoes of "the writing's on the wall." The blurred line between a painterly feel and a photograph add so much visual depth and intrigue to the composition. And that donkey with his big ears is just plain awesome!
Grandmama looks to be a feisty lady! I love the script on the fence, and the aged grunginess of the piece. It's lovely, Beth. Thanks so much for sharing it with us.

ReplyDeleteSo frank and direct and comfortable within her skin ... and yes, so beautiful. Do you ever wonder who was on the other side of the camera?
