"on this road there are no godspoke men. they are gone and i am left and they have taken with them the world."

- cormac mccarthy, the road

  4. The darkness of the piece is so complemented by the warm of the horizon and what might lay beyond. Awesome work, Beth.

  6. The sense of desolation beautifully illustrates the book. The hopeful horizon is a perfect complement.xx

  8. I don't know if you've ever seen a popular commercial photo of a small girl in bare feet walking away from the viewer, along a path through some woods, wearing a straw hat and a dress, carrying a small suitcase and a teddy bear? Your picture is the bittersweet antithesis to that saccharine one. Or maybe it portrays the future of that innocent child.
I've been hesitating about reading The Road. Will reconsider...

the road is disturbing, i won't lie, but hauntingly beautiful at same time. the movie is art in motion. that's just me... huge cormac mccarthy fan (likes disturbing folks as much as i do)
